NI PXIe-based transceiver systems
The RF Sensing and Communications Lab possesses two coherent 4x4 MIMO transceiver instrumentation systems with frequency coverage up to 6 GHz. These systems incorporate shared local oscillators across the transmitters and receivers to provide highly synchronized and phase-coherent channels. These systems include FPGA units and RAID storage for real-time and post processing of measurement data. Both systems are programmed using LabVIEW for CPU processing and LabVIEW FPGA for FPGA signal processing.
The RF Sensing and Communications Lab also maintains a wideband 4x4 coherent MIMO transceiver system. This system operates over an RF range from 100 MHz to 18 GHz with 1 GHz instantaneous bandwidths. The system incorporates shared local oscillators across the transmit and receive subsystems to provide highly synchronized and phase-coherent channels. FPGA array units enable processing of realtime data or previously acquired data streams (stored to RAID).
